Who we are:

CaliforniaWeekend.com reaches the California residents most apt to take vacation breaks and getaways. Our readers (many of them regular readers of local newspaper travel sections) are actively looking for getaway opportunities in California and don't mind spending a substantial amount of money to try new locations or experiences. We currently have several high rankings on several major search engines and the site is also promoted each week through our statewide newspaper column currently published in 57 newspapers reaching nearly 4 million readers. In addition, many of these articles are online at major newspaper sites and national sites like TripAdvisor.com. We also promote the site with advertising in such niche publications as Arthur Frommer's Budget Travel.

Our site brings you primarily the California market -- people who can come back and visit you more than once. Among our current banner and listing advertisers are top hotels such as the Starwood Hotels, Fairmont Hotels, Montage Resort,  La Quinta Resort, La Costa Resort, Meadowood, Doral Desert Princess, San Diego Marriotts, Laguna Cliffs Marriott, Furnace Creek Inn, Glorietta Bay Inn, Grand Pacific Resorts, as well as numerous Hilton, Doubletree and Crowne Plaza hotels. We have a very high renewal rate on our present advertisers.

One reason we are so successful in our renewals is what we call Yield Management. We are careful not to oversell listings and banners for any given city because we don't want our advertising to outdistance the site's ability to produce results for each advertiser. So, when a given city seems to be reaching a maximum number of advertisers, we will opt to sell in another area first, allowing time for the site's constantly growing traffic levels to "catchup."  That is one reason we are launching a similar site for the Pacific Northwest -- to spread out our sales efforts instead of overselling any given area.

Property listings:

The foundation of your buy is the "Property Listing" (pictured to the right) which includes a listing in the Getaway Machine, in Destinations under your city and/or region, and sometimes in other locations as well. The basic price is $299 for an annual listing.

Banner opportunities:

Home Page Sponsor -- We have a total of 13 banner positions available on the home page, and placement is first-come, first-served. Three of the positions appear in the upper right hand corner of the page, while 10 positions are at the bottom of the page and categorized by destination city.

------

Exclusive Category Sponsor -- When you go to our Getaway Machine on the home page, you'll note several categories to click on . The Exclusive Category Sponsor allows you to "own" one of those categories.  That means, when you click on that category, only your property's banner ad would appear on the questionnaire.

------

City Sponsor -- Under Choose a Destination, when you click on a given city or area, your ad would be one of only three banner ads there as well as in Midweek Bargains, Gas-wise Getaways and City Profiles when that city is selected. The three City Sponsors are also guaranteed the first three listings under the respective city in Choose a Destination.

------

Getaway Report Sponsor -- one of those "Featured Getaway" banners that appears on every report run from the Getaway Machine. The chief advantage to this banner is that it does appear on every report that is run regardless of criteria selected.

------

Focus Feature Sponsor -- This banner is placed in one of our Focus Destination articles. To see how the banner would be placed in the article, go to our Focus Feature Demo. There two types of Focus Feature Sponsor - Premier Sponsor & Associate Sponsor.
